Monthly Meeting
May 5th, 2010
Rudy opened the meeting at 6:55.
A table in the front was set up for a “Show & Tell” session. Several people displayed and discussed their work and the technique used to create and finish their pieces.
There were 43 people in attendance at this meeting.
Welcome:
There were 2 guests that were introduced.
Minutes from Last Meeting:
Not available, as Tim was not in attendance.
Treasurer’s Report:
Sandra identified the spending and the income for the last month, and the current balance is $4,331.47. The report is always available on the back table for review.
Old Business:
There are several people that have overdue donations. The list is available for review.
Rudy will place the Anchorseal order this week. Rudy is also taking orders for band saw blades, and that order will be placed very soon.
New Business:
David Ellsworth will be here for a hands-on workshop and demo in March of 2011. More info to follow.
On May 22nd, there will be a hands-on workshop at the Craftsman Supply Center in Temple Terrace. The cost is $15.00.
On June 4th, there will be a fundraiser at the Tampa Museum of Art. Rudy will have some of his work on display. The cost to get in is $10.00.
Rudy suggested having a 50/50 raffle; along with our other raffle.
Angel Ranon recently had his 90th birthday. How nice to be able to win ribbons at the fair at 90!
A suggestion was made to have a fundraiser to help the club president with expenses to the symposiums; more discussion to follow.
Buy and Sell:
Bruce will have wood available for a donation, and he will donate 50% to the club.
Don Doyle has been donating $5.00 for every Rubber Chuckie he sells. He donated $20.00 to the club at this meeting. Thank you, Don!
Raffle
The raffle brought in $63.00.
Demonstration:
Al Hockenbery demonstrated his ball-in-ball turned specialty item. He provided several good tips on how to turn a sphere.
