New Business

May need to find another meeting location; $80 per hour for this building going forward.  May talk with Commissioners and Hand in Hand Academy. 

Will take recommendations, other ideas.  Possible locations might include

Broad Street Baptist Church; Carrolwood Cultural Center; Churches; etc.

 

We are here until August, then we have to get everything out as they will be closing the building.

           

Randy the arborist has huge camphor and hickory in Brooksville.  May be planning another trip soon.

 

Rudy will do the “photography” demo in the fall. 

 

“Bowl Class” with different levels of difficulty.  August or September.

Bruce – Has a lot of wood available at his home.  Come take what you need and just give a little donation for gas.

            Judy – Platters with chatterwork and inlace; Mark Marek hollow form and natural edge bowl with foot for placement; three foot ten inch bowl; Segmented bowl with lid made out of a 2X4 with 18 sides; Bruce E. brought several pieces – red gum flat bowl; cedar bowl; natural edge magnolia; bowl from bee camphor; bobbin boxes with contrasting woods and wood burning; Allen Howell – spalted hackberry bowl; bee tree camphor with filling for cracks; cherry bowl with black walnut top; Glenn brought a sour wood bowl.

 

Demonstration

Rudy did a demonstration on how to turn a bowl. 

Evaluate the log, determine the design.
