Dennis opened the meeting at 7pm.

He welcomed new members and guests.

He announced the passing of Doug Barnes who heads up the scheduling and many important functions
at the John C. Campbell School in mid July.  They will be having a service for him sometime in
August.

Dixie Biggs was scheduled to demo for us Oct 11th and will have to be rescheduled for Oct 18th
if she is OK with that new date.  The donation for coming to watch her demo will be $30.00 at
the now and $35.00 at the door.  This will include morning snacks and lunch.  The demo will be
from 9am to 3pm.

Pat went over the parameters for the Lidded Box w/Finial contest coming up at the next meeting
in Sept.

Jim Smith spoke about the upcoming in Jan. Fl. Symposium.  The club will sponsor 4 new members
attendance paying for their stay at the symposium but not the travel expense to get there.  These
new members qualify by not having had attended any previous Fl. Symposiums.
At the symposium last year Jim mentioned he had won a Jet Lathe and Jan Brown won free classes
at the John C. Campbell School in NC.

Bill wanted to see the hands of members who would be interested in buying Pen & Pepper Mill parts
if the club supplied them again.

John Dingfelder has a Rikon Mini Lathe for sale, only used 2-3 times for $250.00.
Bob Winter has a 15 gal. air compressor for $100.00

Glenn was our demonstrator for the evening and he turned a Lidded Box w/Finial out of sweet
gum wood...
